Today, I understood
I think talking to ppl really helped me a great deal, often in coming up with my own solutions and today, knowing myself better. it's a great to have someone just listen and acknowledge. it's a bonus to have the listener ask the right qns, respond wisely and appropriately. to have a listener is very rare, what more, the latter? I thank God.
i'm often confused (and searching)
why does my personality fluctuate so much when i'm with diff grps?
who am I really?
what did God made me to be?
today, I understood.
I saw a trend: i'm extroverted when I feel accepted. introverted when I don't feel accepted.
it is no wonder I feel accepted in st johns, campus crusade and adv dip too, these groups consists of a lot of idealist too, take a look at their cause:
only in these groups could I spontaneously come up with games/some fun activities/conversation topics/jokes/antics/ideas that these group of ppl will enjoy and will like.
whereas in pkc and work,
i'm surrounded by realists. they see things as it is now. not what it could be. therefore, they must have seen me as a dreamy idealist- someone who'd prefer to be alone and leave me alone and all the more I don't feel accepted and never could have mutated to my most enjoyable role.
anw, my spontaneous topics/ideas/games/jokes/antics will be very way off with these grp of ppl so I can't be very spontaneous also. they seemed rather judgemental and critical, so all the more the games planned should be carefully thought of. Though I don't fully enjoy myself with this grp of peeps but what kept me going was bcos i'm an idealist. hahaha. I see what they could become... =))
well, somehow, I appreciate independent thinkers. they got a balanced view of both worlds. =))

Jesus is definately not a Mr. Nice guy
When Jesus returned to the Temple and began teaching, the leading priests and elders came up to him. They demanded, “By what authority are you doing all these things? Who gave you the right?”
“I’ll tell you by what authority I do these things if you answer one question,” Jesus replied. “Did John’s authority to baptize come from heaven, or was it merely human?”
They talked it over among themselves. “If we say it was from heaven, he will ask us why we didn’t believe John. But if we say it was merely human, we’ll be mobbed because the people believe John was a prophet.” So they finally replied, “We don’t know.”
And Jesus responded, “Then I won’t tell you by what authority I do these things.
(Matthew 21:23-27, NLT)
LOL.
why did Jesus curse the fig tree?
it seems to be an object lesson.
"The presence of a fruitful fig tree was considered to be a symbol of blessing and prosperity for the nation of Israel. Likewise, the absence or death of a fig tree would symbolize judgment and rejection. Symbolically, the fig tree represented the spiritual deadness of Israel, who while very religious outwardly with all the sacrifices and ceremonies, were spiritually barren because of their sins. By cleansing the Temple and cursing the fig tree, causing it to whither and die, Jesus was pronouncing His coming judgment of Israel and demonstrating His power to carry it out. It also teaches the principle that religious profession and observance are not enough to guarantee salvation, unless there is the fruit of genuine salvation evidenced in the life of the person. James would later echo this truth when he wrote that “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26). The lesson of the fig tree is that we should bear spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), not just give an appearance of religiosity. God judges fruitlessness, and expects that those who have a relationship with Him will “bear much fruit” (John 15:5-8)."

Broken
Henri Nouwen once said, "Our life is full of brokenness- broken relationships, broken promises, broken expectations. How can we live with that brokenness without becoming bitter and resentful except by returning again and again to God's faithful presence in our lives? "
When we come with true humility to seek God in our brokenness, God will be there to cheer us and encourage us.
the one who rules forever, whose name is holy:
“I dwell in an exalted and holy place,
but also with the discouraged and humiliated,
in order to cheer up the humiliated
and to encourage the discouraged."
“I dwell in an exalted and holy place,
but also with the discouraged and humiliated,
in order to cheer up the humiliated
and to encourage the discouraged."
Isaiah 57:15 (NET)
Our Creator takes a special interest in those who are hurting and need help. Let the Master Technician (Spirit of God) bring about the necessary repairs to our broken lives, and create space for Him to work and speak His Word into our hearts. In doing so, we will experience God's healing.

Let's follow the Spirit's leading in EVERY part of our lives
"Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in EVERY part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or provoke one another, or be jealous of one another." (Gal 5:25-26, NLT) "That means we will not compare ourselves with each other as if one of us were better and another worse. We have far more interesting things to do with our lives. Each of us is an original." (Gal 5:26, MSG)
Correcting Another Believer
"If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector."
Matthew 18:15-17, NLT
Speak the truth IN LOVE, with much wisdom and discernment from God
"The first thing to be said about this is, it’s THE formula for ending backbiting and gossip.
Most people are too cowardly to confront someone who has offended them face to face, so instead of dealing with the problem head on, they just gossip to all their friends about it. It creates an undercurrent of conflict and dissension that becomes impossible to stop.
If you follow Matthew 18, this never happens. Also, if other people follow Matthew 18, you don’t get blindsided when you hear 3rd hand that you hurt somebody’s feelings. The person tells you directly and you’re able to respond to it. It’s surprising how often such things are trivial misunderstandings that are no big deal when they’re nipped in the bud."

What does it mean to treat someone as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector?
Matthew 18:17 in The Message says it well. "If he won’t listen to the church, you’ll have to start over from scratch, confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God’s forgiving love."

The happiest moments are often the simplest
“The traveler was active, he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him.” — Daniel Boorstin
The happiest moments are often the simplest.
My happiest moments while traveling were all quite simple. They’re moments that most of us have access to as a living, breathing human being: A walk under a warm sun. A run at sunset in a new city. Marveling at a natural wonder. The anticipation of a new adventure. Laughing with old friends. Getting to know new friends. Deeply connecting with a stranger. Spending the night next to a beautiful woman. Showing someone love. Receiving someone’s love. Giving freely. Listening to someone’s story. Sharing your own.

Stereotypes, judgement & discrimination
what you believe about a person could either be a barrier or a catalyst to a growing relationship.
Learning to LOVE
let us not be offended with each other but pray for each other that we may grow, all the more to walk in obedience in God, TOGETHER.

Obedience to God
Sometime along the week, I had this perspective:
Obedience to God is not sacrificing more than the others and having less. It is having an abundant and eternal life with God. That, is MORE.

2 Corinthians 10:5
. . . bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ . . . —2 Corinthians 10:5
So much Christian work today has never been disciplined, but has simply come into being by impulse! In our Lord’s life every project was disciplined to the will of His Father. There was never the slightest tendency to follow the impulse of His own will as distinct from His Father’s will— “the Son can do nothing of Himself . . . ” (John 5:19). Then compare this with what we do— we take “every thought” or project that comes to us by impulse and jump into action immediately, instead of imprisoning and disciplining ourselves to obey Christ.
But true determination and zeal are found in obeying God, not in the inclination to serve Him that arises from our own undisciplined human nature.
...each person must recognize the responsibility to “be transformed by the renewing of [his] mind. . .

Dating
"The greatest danger of dating is giving parts of our hearts and lives to someone to whom we’re not married. It is a significant risk, and many, many men and women have deep and lasting wounds from relationships because a couple enjoyed emotional or physical closeness without a lasting, durable commitment."

in the KING's presence
JESUS
King, Creator, Friend and God
It is in Your presence that I don't have to play pretend
It is in Your presence that I experience true freedom
It is in Your presence that I can bare my heart
I can be myself in front of You
I can come clean with all my weaknesses
I can tell You I'm struggling
I can tell You I'm angry, sad, or really happy
I can tell You if I like someone
Because I know I'm judged only by You
I trust Your judgment.
In Your Justice, Holiness, Righteousness
And LOVE, you judge.
In Your Love, You never condemned me but saved me from my sins
In Your Love, I can have hope,
Hope to be what You've created me to be!
You've created me good
You've created me to enjoy a relationship with You,
To connect with You
To worship You
Forever!
It is in You, my Creator, that I truly found who I really am,
What I was created to be.
Thank You for inviting me in Your presence.
I'm honoured to be in the KING's presence.

Some God moments during shopping...
Was accompanying my sis to shop for office wear
Back of my mind was just thinking if the shopping wasn't as fruitful...
I wouldn't be as happy... =(
Though I kept reminding myself that I just want to spend that time with her
We looked around but there wasn't any that fit her
Then we were reminded, we knew of someone who was quite big framed as well
and wondered where she got all her clothes
Just finish reading the msg, "... ...and Dorothy perkins." we ended up there, right in front of us.
Just felt that was so divinely led and guided...
And yes! They have pretty clothes with sizes from 6-20!
We had so much fun bcos we found clothes that fits us!
What's more, they are having sales with clothes up to 50% discount and additional 15% with POSB everyday card!
I learnt to cast ALL my cares on Him bcos He cares for me (not just spiritually but also physically =))!

Jesus come work with me
feel so tired today
during work I feel like going home and not working anymore
all I do is to do and do and do
I longed for deeper relationships
Sharing of lives and heart
not just doing and doing and doing all day
I'm not a machine
then I confessed
I confessed I've lost focus
man where has Jesus been in the midst of my work
what am I looking at
charts
to dos
charts
to dos
where is Jesus
none in sight
Jesus come work with me
Fill me with an abundance of You
for more of Your love
for more of Your touch
for more of Your strength
to pray for the ppl I met
knowing that they didn't come into my life by chance
Help me not to see them as work
They are ppl with a heart and a soul
They are Your created beings
who needs Your LOVE
Each bedsheet I change, let them know You
Each diaper I change, let them know You
Each shower I've helped, each bed sponge I've done, let them know You
Each diet I serve, each medicine I give, each cup of water I bring
Let everything I do, let people see Your love, YOUR LOVE for them
Let it come out of an abundance of LOVE from You.

back from chengdu! =)
hi my dear friends, i'm back from chengdu and would like to bless you with a little something as i remember and thank God for the times when your life has been such a great blessing to me.
do choose the gifts you want and whatsapp me the gift number. i'll reserve them for you till we meet again! =)
if there's nothing you want, bu2 yao3 mian2 qiang3 ba4 (don't force yourself). hehe.
EXPERIENCES:
I was there just to see my sec sch best friend life in chengdu, in which she'll spend 6 years of her life there.
AWESOME CATCHUP
it has been an awesome catch up with her!
EXCITING
it has been an exciting journey cos it's the first time i'm travelling to and fro to a country via air alone.
GOOD FLIGHT
i usually take budget flights so to me, silkair was rather luxurious- food and drinks, red wine, eye shades and many more services.
FUN
had 3 lovable and fun-to-be-with dogs to play with during my stay!
lighting fire crackers and fireworks was also quite a thrilling experience!
LEARNT
hospitality- felt really welcomed and loved by the couple (my best friend and her husband) during the trip. everything was carefully thought of, well planned and prepared for my arrival and enjoyment. i was touched by their hospitality.
there can be freedom and fun in marriage- i used to think that i can't do alot of things that i want to do like mission trips, volunteering etc etc when i'm married but that's not necessarily true. sometimes, it can be better and more fun with a partner doing it together or supporting what you are doing and vice versa.
i guess it's really that someone who's able to see value in the things you value, able to appreciate you, relate to you, grow old with you and vice versa that makes married life so beautiful! =) my best friend's married life is a beautiful example.
charcoal pills and panadol is a must when travelling- medicines you need are not so readily available in stores overseas, even if it's city area.
-okay, end of highlight :p-

i guess it's really that someone who's able to see value in the things you value, able to appreciate you, relate to you, grow old with you and vice versa that makes married life so beautiful! =) my best friend's married life is a beautiful example.
charcoal pills and panadol is a must when travelling- medicines you need are not so readily available in stores overseas, even if it's city area.
-okay, end of highlight :p-
