The happiest moments are often the simplest

“The traveler was active, he went strenuously in search of people, of adventure, of experience. The tourist is passive; he expects interesting things to happen to him.” — Daniel Boorstin

The happiest moments are often the simplest.

My happiest moments while traveling were all quite simple. They’re moments that most of us have access to as a living, breathing human being: A walk under a warm sun. A run at sunset in a new city. Marveling at a natural wonder. The anticipation of a new adventure. Laughing with old friends. Getting to know new friends. Deeply connecting with a stranger. Spending the night next to a beautiful woman. Showing someone love. Receiving someone’s love. Giving freely. Listening to someone’s story. Sharing your own.

Totally agreed.

Stereotypes, judgement & discrimination

what you believe about a person could either be a barrier or a catalyst to a growing relationship.

Learning to LOVE

let us not be offended with each other but pray for each other that we may grow, all the more to walk in obedience in God, TOGETHER.

Obedience to God

Sometime along the week, I had this perspective:

Obedience to God is not sacrificing more than the others and having less. It is having an abundant and eternal life with God. That, is MORE.

Truth welcomed

Whatever thoughts, belief, attitudes, values that is contrary to the Truth must go.

2 Corinthians 10:5

. . . bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ . . . —2 Corinthians 10:5

So much Christian work today has never been disciplined, but has simply come into being by impulse! In our Lord’s life every project was disciplined to the will of His Father. There was never the slightest tendency to follow the impulse of His own will as distinct from His Father’s will— “the Son can do nothing of Himself . . . ” (John 5:19). Then compare this with what we do— we take “every thought” or project that comes to us by impulse and jump into action immediately, instead of imprisoning and disciplining ourselves to obey Christ.

But true determination and zeal are found in obeying God, not in the inclination to serve Him that arises from our own undisciplined human nature.

...each person must recognize the responsibility to “be transformed by the renewing of [his] mind. . .

Think again.

"We are apt to think that which we ourselves say is important, when others, with reason, think little of it."

Dating

"The greatest danger of dating is giving parts of our hearts and lives to someone to whom we’re not married. It is a significant risk, and many, many men and women have deep and lasting wounds from relationships because a couple enjoyed emotional or physical closeness without a lasting, durable commitment."

In His Will

"If David Wilkerson had allowed slander to deter him from his work with New York gangs in the 1960s, we would not have the ministry of Teen Challenge today. The key to persevering in God's call is to genuinely know that we are doing God's will."

Not Qualified

Matthew 9:12-13

Healthy people don't need a doctor- sick people do. Then He added, "Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: 'I want you to show mercy, not sacrifices. For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.
